New Account

Overview
Use this feature to open a new checking or savings account online.
Actions
To open a new account click New Account. You will be prompted to complete the following four steps.

Step 1 – Select Product

Click the radio button to the left of the account you wish to open on the Select Product page. Click CONTINUE or CANCEL to cancel opening the account.

Step 2 – Select Mailing Address

Click the radio button next to the mailing address on Select Mailing Address page. If you would also like to order a debit card for the new account, click the check box next to PLEASE SEND ME A WOODFOREST DEBIT CARD FOR THIS ACCOUNT.

If the mailing address is not present, click the Add new address hyperlink. The Edit Contact Point window will appear. Enter the Nickname, Street, City, State and Zip Code in the designated fields. Use the dropdown arrow to select a Country if other than the United States. Check the box to the left of MAKE THIS MY PRIMARY CONTACT if you want this to be the primary postal address used for bill payments. Click CONTINUE or CANCEL to cancel adding the postal address.

A new contact point window will appear displaying other accounts you may wish to apply this address to. Click the box to the left of the existing account(s) you want the address to also apply (this is optional). Click SAVE POSTAL ADDRESS to continue, BACK to edit the address, or CANCEL to cancel adding the address.

You are returned to the Select Mailing Address where the newly added address will be selected. Click CONTINUE, BACK to return to the previous page, or CANCEL to cancel opening the account.

Step 3 – Terms of Service

The account terms and conditions will appear. To view and/or print the terms and conditions documents, click on the hyperlinked document name. The document will open in a new window as a PDF file and can then be viewed and/or printed. When finished, close the document and continue clicking on each of the hyperlinked document names. Each document will open in a new PDF file and can be viewed and/or printed. When finished reviewing the account terms and conditions, click I ACCEPT to continue or I DECLINE to cancel opening the account.

Step 4 – Fund the Account

The Fund New Account window will appear. Click the radio button to the left of the account you want the initial deposit of the new account to be withdrawn from. Then, enter the amount in the Initial Deposit field. Click CONTINUE or CANCEL to cancel opening the account.

Step 5 – Review and Confirm

A new window will appear to review and confirm the account opening. Click CONFIRM, BACK to return to the previous page or CANCEL to cancel opening the account. A new window will appear displaying all account details and confirming the account was opened successfully.

Tip
You can track your progress during account opening. The five steps to opening a new account display at the top of the page. As each step is successfully completed, a green checkmark displays next to the step.
